FORT LAUDERDALE, FL. — Rapper Kodak Black was arrested in South Florida on charges of trafficking in oxycodone and possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, authorities said.
According to reports, Black, whose real name is Bill Karpi, was pulled over for a traffic violation while traveling in a purple Dodge Durango in Fort Lauderdale, when police found 31 oxycodone pills and $74,960 in cash in the vehicle.
Kapri was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and trafficking oxycodone of less than 25 grams, according to Broward County Sheriff’s Office online booking records.
Kapri was stopped by the Florida Highway Patrol for illegal window tint and expired tags.
The rapper’s arrest comes a week before his anticipated performance at Rolling Loud, a national hip-hop festival at Hard Rock Stadium, the Sun-Sentinel reported.
