LAGRANGE COUNTY, IN. (THECOUNT) — Joshua Schwartz, of Shipshewana, Indiana, has been identified as the victim in a Monday fatal motorcycle crash in LaGrange County.
“Josh” Schwartz, 18, was killed in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash near Shipshewana Monday afternoon.
According to reports, Schwartz was operating a Red Kawasaki VN8 motorcycle on W Lake Street/ W 700 S near IN-5 in Topeka, when the bike hit a pothole – ejecting the rider. Seth Miller, 18, who was traveling on a motorcycle directly behind Schwartz, then ran him over.
Schwartz, who was reportedly a Shipshewana volunteer firefighter, was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
