BECKER COUNTY, MN. (THECOUNT) — Casey Arneson, of Fargo, North Dakota, has been identified as the victim in a Friday night fatal ATV crash in Becker County, Minnesota.

Arneson, 27, was killed, and 29-year-old Joe Starkey, of Mahnomen, Minnesota, was injured, in a single-vehicle ATV crash in Holmesville Township Friday night.

According to reports, Arneson was operating an ATV, with Starkey as his passenger on NE Rock Lake Rd in Rochert, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle exited the roadway around 10:15 p.m. Friday. The ATV then made contact with a substantial tree and rolled over.

Starkey was transported to an area hospital after suffering non-life-threatening injuries.

Arneson, who recently became engaged to be married, was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
