PHILADELPHIA, PA. (THECOUNT) — Jailene Holton has been identified as the young woman fatally shot Tuesday night while attending a bar in Northeast Philadelphia.

Police say, a disgruntled recently ejected bar patron fired into the building at least 15 times late Tuesday night.

Holton was transported to an area hospital hospital where she was pronounced dead of gunshot wounds Wednesday morning, according to family members.

She was shot around 11:30 p.m. at the Philly Bar and Restaurant on the 2400 block of Welsh Road, NBC10 reports.

Police say three men caused a disturbance in the bar and were escorted out shortly before the shooting. One of the men had to be forced out. That man then walked to a dark-colored pick-up truck, retrieved a gun, fired into the bar and fled the scene, authorities say. He hit Jailene Holton, who first responders found laying on the floor of the bar bleeding. Investigators do not believe she was the intended target, reports PhillyVoice.

Holton, who worked at Target, came to the bar near her home as a designated driver after going to Top Golf with a friend from New Jersey. It was rare for her to go out to bars, her uncle said.

A man in his 30s who was slashed in the face by broken glass during the shooting was also taken to the hospital.

Investigators have conducted interviews with dozens of eyewitnesses and are currently reviewing surveillance footage of the incident, 6ABC reports. They do not believe the other two men who were kicked out were involved in the shooting.
