CUMBERLAND COUNTY, TN. (THECOUNT) — Allen James Hems, of Laurens, South Carolina, has been identified as the victim in a Thursday fatal vehicle crash in Cumberland County, Tennessee.
‘AJ’ Hems, 24, was killed in a single-vehicle crash Thursday night near Crossville.
According to reports, Hems was operating a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck on Potato Farm Rd. near Genesis Rd. in Crossville, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the curved roadway around 11:30 p.m. Thursday. The vehicle then made contact with a substantial tree.
Hems, who was ejected during the crash, was killed as a result of injuries suffered in the crash.
The cause of the wreck remains under investigation.
