WASHINGTON COUNTY, MD. (THECOUNT) — Multiple victims have been reported in an active shooter situation in Washington County, Maryland, Thursday afternoon, authorities said.
The shooting occurred in Smithsburg which is about 70 miles northwest of Washington, D.C.
“The suspect is no longer a threat to the community,” the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said.
