COOK COUNTY, IL. (THECOUNT) — An active shooting is occurring in Cook County, Illinois Sunday afternoon.
According to officials, an active shooter investigation is underway near 159th Street and Central Avenue in Oak Forest on Sunday.
Police are warning residents to avoid the area Sunday afternoon.
Oak Forest officials issued an alert around noon Sunday.
Police are at the scene and said the shooter is female.
No information has been released on injuries as of just before 12:30 p.m.
