Kara Stockton Former GA Radio Host & Nancy Grace Producer Dead At 44

COBB COUNTY, GA. (THECOUNT) — Kara Stockton, a former Atlanta radio host, has died. She was 44.

Stockton, who was recently employed as a producer on Sirius XM’s “Crime Stories with Nancy Grace,” passed away, her family told members of the press Friday night.

Stockton co-hosted news/talk station 106.7 with Shannon Burke from 2016 to 2019 before moving on to Sirius XM.

According to family, Stockton had recently had her gallbladder removed and was reportedly having liver problems. She also had recently recovered from COVID-19, according to her Facebook page. That said, a cause of death remains a mystery. Her brother, Rob, said she died in her sleep on Thursday.

Stockton wrote about her health struggles in a Facebook post on Feb. 10.

“I’ve had to completely lose all sense of pride. I’m back in the hospital. I can’t sit up or down or walk on my own. They don’t think it’s any complication from the gallbladder surgery, but they’re not sure … is going on. All I know is major pain, and I’m going to be here for a while. Prayers please!”

Stockton grew up in Marietta and worked for Georgia Public Broadcasting and Fox 5 before joining 106.7 in 2014.
