JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL. (THECOUNT) — Joshua Isaiah Carpenter, of Birmingham, Alabama, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Monday night shooting in Jefferson County.
Carpenter, 26, was fatally shot near a Birmingham apartment complex Monday night.
According to reports, police responded to a call of shots fired in the 1700 block of 33rd Street North around 7:15 p.m. Monday. When they arrived, Carpenter was discovered suffering from apparent gunshot injuries.
Carpenter was pronounced dead at the scene of gunshot wounds.
No arrests or suspect information has been released by officials.
Fitzgerald said police are asking the public to provide clues to investigators. Anonymous tips can be called into the Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.
The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
