COLLEYVILLE, TX. (THECOUNT) — The Colleyville Police Department SWAT team is on the scene of a hostage situation where a man has barricaded himself along with hostages during Saturday services in an area synagogue.

It’s unclear how many people are currently being held against their will inside the Congregation Beth Israel building located in Colleyville, a community of about 26,000 people 15 miles (23 kilometers) northeast of Fort Worth.

The services were being live streamed on the synagogue’s Facebook page for a time, and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported that apparent negotiations could be heard between the alleged hostage taker and police. The paper reported that an angry man could be heard ranting about his sister and Islam at times during the livestream, which didn’t show what was happening inside the synagogue, according to AP

Shortly before 2 p.m., the man said, “You got to do something. I don’t want to see this guy dead.” Moments later, the feed cut out.

Negotiations with the suspect are ongoing.
