GUADALAJARA, MX. (THECOUNT) — Vicente Fernández Jr., son of Mexican singing legend Vicente Fernández, said that his father is not dead and rather in “critical condition.”
Fernández Jr. denied rumors that his father, 81, had passed away. The rumor had been swerling on social media since his father suffered a fall over the summer.
Speaking with the media from the hospital where the singer is admitted in Guadalajara, the younger Fernández said that his father “is delicate,” and he asked for “a lot of prayers.”
The younger Fernández called rumors about his father passing “a total lie.”
The crooner had to undergo cervical surgery following the fall.
