Ethan Crumbley ID’d As Suspect In Tuesday Michigan Quadruple-Fatal School Shooting

OAKLAND COUNTY, MI. (THECOUNT) — Ethan Crumbley has been identified as the teen student at a Michigan high school charged with murder in connection with Tuesday’s school shooting that left four students dead.

Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald announced at a Wednesday press conference that Crumbley, 15, will be charged as an adult with one count of terrorism causing death, four counts of first-degree murder, seven counts of assault with intent to murder and 12 counts of possession of a firearm.

McDonald did not discuss a motive, but said the facts of the case “suggest this was not just an impulsive act,” citing “a mountain of digital evidence, video tape, [and] social media.”

Justin Shilling, an Oxford High School student, has become the latest victim to die after he was transported to McLaren Oakland Hospital following a mass shooting at the Michigan school Tuesday.

Shilling, 17, died Wednesday morning while in a Pontiac hospital, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.

Oakland County officials identified the three other students who died as, Hana St. Juliana, 14, Madisyn Baldwin, 17, and 16-year-old Tate Myre.

A 14-year-old girl is in critical condition with gunshot wounds to her chest and neck. She is on a ventilator after surgery.

A 17-year-old girl is in critical condition with a gunshot wound to her chest.

A 15-year-old boy is in critical condition with a gunshot wound to his head.

A 14-year-old boy is in serious condition with gunshot wounds to his jaw and head.

A 17-year-old girl is stable with a gunshot wound to her neck.

A 15-year-old boy is stable with a gunshot wound to his left leg.

The 15-year-old suspect was taken into custody by deputies who arrived within 2 to 3 minutes of the first 911 call reporting the gunfire.

According to a statement from the Sheriff’s office, a 911 employee handling calls during the triple-fatal shooting, learned that a relative was among the fallen:

“One of our deputies, due to the severity of wounds, loaded up one of the children in his car and sadly, that child died in the car,” Bouchard said at a press conference. “One of our employees who was in the 911 center as part of the team taking the emergency calls, had a relative killed. This touches us all personally, deeply and will for a long time.”

“We will leave no stone unturned.”

Tate Myre, a junior running back and middle linebacker on the football team, was identified as one of the students fatally wounded in the shooting.

According to LawOfficer, Myre’s actions were apparently so astounding, that not even 24 hours after the bloodbath, a petition is circulating that calls on the school to rename its Wildcat Stadium after him. Although the small town of Oxford has less than 4,000 residents, the petition has been signed by nearly 44,000 people as of Wednesday morning.

The petition organizer Drake Biggie says Myre’s actions will become legendary and his story should be retold for years to come.

“Tate is not just a hero to his fellow students at Oxford High School but a legend, his act of bravery should be remembered forever and passed down through generations, he put his life in danger to try and help the thousands of other students at Oxford High School,” Biggie wrote.

Myre was described by a fellow Michigan high school football player as a beloved athlete in the area.

“He was a standout player. He inspired many people and was loved by many people,” Matt Johnson, 17, told the New York Post.

We are now learning that a 15-year-old sophomore has been identified as the student who opened fire at his Michigan high school on Tuesday.

The shooting left three students dead and wounded six others, including a teacher, authorities said.

Police responded to a report of an active shooter at the high school in Oxford Township, a community of about 22,000 people roughly 30 miles (48 kilometers) north of Detroit.

The suspected shooter was arrested and a handgun was recovered, said the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, which added that it doesn’t think there was more than one attacker, reports KSAT.

A medical helicopter landed shortly after 2 p.m. in the parking lot of the school.

The school was placed on lockdowns, with some students sheltering in locked classrooms. They later were ushered to the parking lot of a nearby store after police secured the school and took the suspect into custody.
