MADISON COUNTY, NY. (THECOUNT) — Joshua Heffernan, of Mattydale, New York, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Friday night vehicle crash in Madison County.
Heffernan, 27, was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Bridgeport Friday night.
According to reports, Janet Nunez, 64, of Bridgeport, was operating a GMC Terrain on Route 31 near Tuttle Road in Bridgeport, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes around 5 p.m. Friday. The vehicle then came into contact with a Chevrolet Cruze, operated by Heffernan.
Heffernan was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
Nunez suffered several internal injuries and is currently listed in stable condition.
