POLK COUNTY, FL. (THECOUNT) — Candice Franz, of Lake Wales, Florida, has been identified as the victim in a Friday morning fatal vehicle crash in Polk County.
Franz, 25, was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Lake Wales Friday morning.
According to reports, Franz was operating a Nissan Versa on Masterpiece Road near Timberlane Road in Lake Wales, when the Nissan hydroplaned into the path of a Ford Mustang, operated by 47-year old Jeff Corey.
Franz was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
A 7-month old baby girl who was riding in Franz’s car did not appear to have suffered any injuries.
Corey was treated and released from an area hospital.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
