LICKING COUNTY, OH. (THECOUNT) — Ashleigh Church, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio, has been identified as the victim in a fiery Monday morning vehicle crash in Licking County.
Church, 19, was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Jersey County Monday morning.
According to reports, a 17-year-old male was operating a Lincoln MKZ on Mink Street near State Route 161, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 4:20 a.m. Monday. The vehicle then came into contact with two trees and burst into flames.
Church, a passenger in the Lincoln, was ejected during the wreck. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The teen driver was transported to an area hospital with unknown serious injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
