CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, IL. (THECOUNT) — Acarrie Ingram Triner, of Rantoul, Illinois, has been identified as the victim in a Wednesday night fatal shooting in Champaign County.

Triner, 19, was killed after she was struck by gunfire in Champaign Wednesday night.

According to reports, police responded to a call of shots fired in the 200 block of Kenwood Road in Champaign. When they arrived, Triner was found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the neck around 10:40 p.m. Wednesday.

Triner was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.

No motive or suspect information was provided by officials as of Thursday morning.

Police are asking any residents or businesses in the nearby area with exterior surveillance camera systems to notify the police department.
