KABUL, AFGHANISTAN. (THECOUNT) — Maxton William Soviak, of Berlin Heights, Ohio, has been identified as the soldier killed in a bombing Thursday in Kabul, Afghanistan.
Soviak, 22, a U.S. Navy medic, was among the 13 Americans killed in Thursday’s bombings outside the Kabul airport in Afghanistan.
Soviak was a former Edison High School Boys Varsity Football player.
The Sandusky Register reported the Edison School District sent a notice stating, “Max Soviak, a 2017 Edison graduate was killed in Afghanistan from the attack at the Kabul airport.”
On Instagram, a Marilyn Soviak posted, “I’ve never been one for politics and i’m not going to start now. What I will say is that my beautiful, intelligent, beat-to-the-sound of his own drum, annoying, charming baby brother was killed yesterday helping to save lives.”
