LEE COUNTY, AL. (THECOUNT) — Marquez D. Thomas, of Salem, Alabama, has been identified as the victim in a Monday night fatal single-vehicle crash in Lee County.
Thomas, 25, was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Opelika Monday night.
According to reports, Thomas was operating a vehicle on AL-51 near Lee Road 38 in Opelika, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around midnight. The vehicle then rolled over.
Thomas was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of injuries suffered in the wreck.
A female passenger in the vehicle was ejected during the crash. She remains in critical condition at an area hospital.
Alabama State Troopers are investigating the crash.
