AIKEN COUNTY, SC. (THECOUNT) — Luis Echevarria, of Columbia, South Carolina, has been identified as the victim in a Thursday morning fatal vehicle crash in Aiken County.
Echevarria, 34, was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Monetta early Thursday morning.
According to reports, Echevarria was operating a Ford minivan on Interstate 20 between Monetta and Batesburg, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 1 a.m. Thursday. The vehicle then rolled over and made contact with a tree.
Echevarria was pronounced dead at the scene from blunt force injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
