HAMILTON COUNTY, IN. (THECOUNT) — Lendon Byram and Kalen Hart, have been identified as the victims in a Saturday night double-fatal vehicle crash in Hamilton County, Indiana.
Hart, a senior at Hamilton Heights in Arcadia, and Byram a junior at Cathedral High School in Indianapolis, were both killed while on their way to prom in a two-vehicle crash near Kokomo Saturday night.
According to reports, Byram was operating a Honda Accord, with Hart as his passenger, when the vehicle came into contact with an SUV around 5:15 p.m. Saturday.
Two other young people traveling in the Honda suffered unknown injuries.
Byram and Hart both died in the crash.
Hamilton Heights School Corporation later canceled all prom-related activities saying grief counselors would be made available.
“No one expects something like this to happen, and when it does, it leaves an entire community grieving,” Superintendent Derek Arrowood said. “Please keep these families and our students in your thoughts and prayers.”
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
