MCCURTAIN COUNTY, OK. (THECOUNT) — Stepheny Bennett, of De Kalb, Texas, has been identified as the victim in a Thursday two-vehicle crash in McCurtain County, Oklahoma.
Bennett, 48, was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Idabel early Thursday.
According to reports, 24-year-old Blake Bearden of Wake Village, Texas, was operating a vehicle on U.S. 259 in Idabel, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes around 4:30 a.m. Thursday. The vehicle then made contact with a Honda sedan, operated by Bennett.
Bennett was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries. Her passenger, 26-year-old Sherese Bennett, was transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
Bearden’s condition was not provided.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
