“JaeRene” Chapman was killed in a wrong-way vehicle crash involving suspect DUI driver, 32-year-old Bobby James Brown Jr., on Wednesday.

According to reports, the singer was traveling in a vehicle with three others on the Westpark Tollway in Houston, when the vehicle was struck head-on by an intoxicated wrong-way driver Wednesday. The other three passengers were transported to an area hospital with critical injuries.

Deputies say Brown was in surgery for his own injuries Thursday and faces three counts of intoxication assault with a vehicle and one count of intoxication manslaughter according to Fox26.
