STE. GENEVIEVE COUNTY, MO. (THECOUNT) — McKenna Templeton, of Festus, Missouri, has been identified as the victim in a Friday night fatal vehicle crash in Ste. Genevieve County.
Templeton, 18, was killed in a two-vehicle crash involving a semi-tractor Friday night near Ste. Genevieve Township.
According to reports, Templeton was operating a Ford Escape on Interstate 55 at the 146.4 mile marker in Hayti, when the vehicle came into contact with a Freightliner Conventional big-rig, operated by 55-year-old Lewis Riddick III, of Perryville, around 6:40 p.m. Friday.
The Ford Escape then rotated and rolled over before striking a guardrail.
Templeton, who was ejected from the vehicle during the crash, was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
Riddick was not seriously injured in the wreck.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
