LAURENS COUNTY, SC. (THECOUNT) — Julienne Burgeson Butkus, of Cross Hill, South Carolina, has been identified as the victim in a Wednesday night fatal vehicle crash in Laurens County.
Butkus, 55, was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Cross Hill Wednesday night.
According to reports, Butkus was operating a vehicle on Watts Bridge Road in Cross Hill, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 7:45 p.m. Wednesday. The vehicle then came into contact with a tree.
Butkus was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
