WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA. (THECOUNT) — Scott Erickson, a former Major League Baseball pitcher, was charged in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed two young brothers in Westlake Village, California, in September 2020.

Erickson, 52, is facing one misdemeanor count of reckless driving after being accused of street racing with Rebecca Grossman last September. Grossman struck and killed brothers, 11-year-old Mark Iskander and 8-year-old Jacob Iskander.

Erickson, from Long Beach, California, is scheduled for arraignment March 16.

He played for the Houston Astros in 1987 and Toronto Blue Jays in 1988 and in 1989 he was drafted by the Minnesota Twins

The co-founder of the Grossman Burn Foundation, Grossman was charged with murder and other charges for allegedly running over two young Westlake Village boys and fleeing the scene, according got ABC7.

Grossman, co-founder of the Gross Burn Foundation, was arrested that night and has since pleaded not guilty to two felony counts each of murder and vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence, along with one felony count of hit-and-run driving resulting in death.

The boys were crossing the street in a marked crosswalk with their parents at the time.

Grossman allegedly left the scene, but stopped shortly after her engine cut off. Investigators say speed and alcohol are believed to be a factor in the crash.
