COMANCHE COUNTY, OK. (THECOUNT) — Zonterious Johnson, of Lawton, Oklahoma, has been identified as the suspect shot dead during a Sunday Comanche County police pursuit.
‘Zon Da Don,’ Johnson, 24, was fatally killed during a foot pursuit with police officers near Lawton Sunday morning.
According to reports, Lawton police officers were conducting a bar check at Lavish Lounge, located at, 1015 SW Park Ave in Lawton, when someone opened fire on the building from outside the venue.
Officers engaged in a foot pursuit before at some point, opening fire on Johnson.
Johnson was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.
According to police, a handgun was recovered at the scene.
No one else was injured during the incident.
