POINSETT COUNTY, AR. (THECOUNT) — Barbara McCormick, of Blytheville, Arkansas, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Wednesday vehicle crash in Poinsett County.
McCormick, 42, was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Greenwood Township Wednesday night.
According to reports, McCormick was operating a Nissan Altima on State Hwy 135 near Co Rd 87 in Lepanto, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 9 p.m. Wednesday. The vehicle then came into contact with a two utility pole guy wires before colliding with a substantial tree.
McCormick was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
