DAVIDSON COUNTY, TN. (THECOUNT) — The image below shows the RV which reportedly exploded at 6:30 a.m. CT Christmas Day in Nashville, Tennessee.
Authorities now believe the massive explosion in downtown Nashville area early on Christmas Day was a planned attack, according to multiple sources.
In a Christmas miracle, it is believed no one died in the large blast. Three people were transported to area hospitals for treatment, although none were in critical condition.
“Right now, it’s a public safety concern, to make sure everybody is accounted for and to make sure the spread of the fire doesn’t go any further,” Michael Knight, a spokesman for the ATF in Nashville, told The Associated Press.
Guests of nearby hotels were evacuated to Nissan Stadium after a “loud boom” rocked the Nashville area Christmas morning in Davidson County, Tennessee.
The Fire Department, the bomb squad and an active investigation by Metro police and federal agencies followed a massive explosion that may have emanated from a parked RV Friday morning near Nashville.
The explosion, which blow out windows, set vehicles on fire and mangled trees, was located near the Melting Pot on 166 2nd Avenue North in Nashville.
The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
