NEW YORK, NY. (THECOUNT) — Ritawantee Persaud, of Ozone Park, New York, has been identified as the victim in a Christmas Eve hit-and-run crash in Queens.
Persaud, 54 or 64, was killed in a hit-and-run crash involving a Lamborghini Urus SUV Thursday night.
According to reports, Persaud was traveling in a Toyota Camry near 103rd Avenue & Rockaway Boulevard in Ozone Park, when the vehicle was struck by the $218,000 luxury SUV. The driver of the Lamborghini then fled the scene. His passenger, a 26-year-old man, suffered head and spine injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
Persaud and her passenger were transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of blunt force head trauma.
The driver of the Lamborghini is still at large.
Officials recovered a large amount of marijuana and a knife inside the Urus.
The investigation into the cause of the deadly incident remains ongoing.
