LANCASTER, CA. (THECOUNT) — Maurice Taylor Sr has been identified as the suspect arrested Friday in the decapitation of a 12-year-boy and 13-year-old girl at a Lancaster home.

Taylor, 34, was arrested Friday on suspicion of killing the two youngsters at the single-story house, located at, 45300 Century Circle in Lancaster around 7:30 a.m. Friday.

According to reports, firefighters initially responded to reports of a gas leak at the residence. Sheriff’s deputies were then called to the scene where homicide detectives “learned that the deceased male and female both appeared to be suffering from lacerations and stab wounds,” the report said.

One individual at the scene was transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries.

Investigators questioned a man, a woman and two other children who were also at the home.

Taylor is being held on murder charges in lieu of $2 million bail.
