LAKE COUNTY, IN. (THECOUNT) — Kelly Hume has been identified as the teenager killed in a Saturday vehicle crash in Lake County, Indiana.

Hume, 13, died in a vehicle crash near Crown Point Saturday night.

According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Department, Hume was traveling in a vehicle operated by her 18-year-old sister, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and went down a steep incline. The younger teen was leaning out the window at the time of the incident and made contact with a utility pole that ejected her from the vehicle.
