COCHISE COUNTY, AZ. (THECOUNT) — Mark Bettencourt, of Hereford, Arizona, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Thursday vehicle crash in Cochise County.
Bettencourt, 31, was killed in a two-vehicle crash near Hereford Thursday night.
According to reports, Bettencourt was operating a Honda Accord on Route 92 near Turkey Track Road, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes around 5:40 p.m. Thursday. The vehicle then came into head-on contact with a GMC pickup truck.
Bettencourt was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The pickup driver was transported to an area hospital with unknown non-life threatening injuries.
