SCOTT COUNTY, KS. (THECOUNT) — Steven Gruver, of Scott City, Kansas and James Hickert, of Bird City, Kansas, have been identified as the victims in a fatal vehicle crash in Scott County Wednesday afternoon.
Gruver, 60 and 37-year-old Hickert, were both killed in a Scott City vehicle crash involving a semi Wednesday afternoon.
According to reports, Gruver was operating a Silverado with Hickert as his passenger on US-83 in Scott City, when the vehicle came into contact with a big-rig, operated by Brian Lytle, 45, of McCook, Nebraska around 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. The vehicle then made contact with another semi-tractor, operated by Benjamin Keith Gilbert, 56, of Jamestown, Kansas.
The truck drivers were uninjured in the collision.
Gruver and Hickert were both pronounced ded at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
