SOLANO COUNTY, CA. (THECOUNT) — Gregory Coppes, of Dixon, California, has been identified as the victim in a Wednesday fatal motorcycle crash in Solano County.
Coppes, 65, was killed in a single-motorcycle crash near Fairfield Wednesday night.
According to reports, Coppes was operating a Harley Davidson motorcycle on Interstate 80 near Manuel Campos Pkwy in Fairfield, when for unknown reasons, the bike crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 7 p.m. Wednesday. The motorcycle then entered a culvert.
Nicknamed “Coach” for his time coaching Dixon High School football and owner American Electrical Commercial Services, Coppes was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
