ALLEGANY COUNTY, MD. (THECOUNT) — Matthew Brands, of Oldtown, Maryland, has been identified as the victim in a Monday night vehicle crash in Allegany County.

Brands, 28, was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Oldtown Monday night.

According to reports, Brands was operating a Chevrolet Cavalier on Route 51 near Commerford Drive, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 5 p.m. Monday. The vehicle then made contact with an embankment and rolled over.

Brands was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash of blunt force trauma injuries.
