WALDO COUNTY, ME. (THECOUNT) — Andrew McHugh, of Ravena, New York, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Tuesday night vehicle crash in Waldo County, Maine.

McHugh, 23, was killed in a vehicle-versus-building collision near Swanville Tuesday night.

According to reports, McHugh was operating a vehicle on Swan Lake Avenue, in Swanville, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 11:50 p.m. Tuesday. The vehicle then made contact with the Swan Lake Grocery Store. The vehicle then burst into flames.

McHugh was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt and thermal injuries.

Six tenants who reside in apartments above the store were all able to exit the building.

The store employs around 20 people.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
