YAKIMA COUNTY, WA. (THECOUNT) — Rachel Jean Teachout, of Kirkland, Washington, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Sunday night vehicle crash in Yakima County.
Teachout, 29, was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Selah Sunday night.
According to reports, Teachout was operating a vehicle on Interstate 82 near Selah, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
Teachout was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
