COOPER COUNTY, MO. (THECOUNT) — Nicholas Barbiere, of Brooksville, Florida, was killed in a vehicle crash on I-70 in Cooper County Friday, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.
Barbiere, 40, was travelling in a vehicle on Interstate 70 Friday with an 11-year-old when the crash occurred.
According to reports, report, Barbiere began to overtake another vehicle, before he traveled of the left side of the road. He overcorrected, returned to the road and struck the vehicle.
Barbiere then traveled off the left side of the roadway again and stuck the median guard cables. His vehicle then overturned and stuck several traffic signs.
MSHP responded to scene around 2:15 p.m.
Barbiere was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 11-year-old in the vehicle was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
