ESSEX COUNTY, MA. (THECOUNT) — Shana Fusco-Russell, of Melrose, Massachusetts, has been identified as the victim in a Saturday fatal vehicle crash in Essex County.
Fusco-Russell, 26, was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Boxford early Saturday.
According to reports, Fusco-Russell was traveling as a passenger in a Toyota Avalon, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited I-95 in Boxford around 1 a.m. Saturday. The vehicle then made contact with a substantial tree and burst into flames.
The two other occupants of the vehicle suffered unknown injuries.
Fusco-Russell, who was ejected from the vehicle during then crash, was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
