IBERIA PARISH, LA. (THECOUNT) — Chad Maturin, of New Iberia, Louisiana, has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle Sunday night in Iberia Parish.
Maturin, 40, was killed after he was struck by a vehicle near New Iberia Sunday night.

According to reports, Maturin was traveling as a passenger on U.S. 90 Frontage Road near College Road in New Iberia, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle pulled over and Maturin exited. He was then struck by a passing BMW coupe.
Maturin was pronounced deceased at scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The operator of the BMW was transferred to an area hospital with minor injuries.
Information on the driver of the vehicle in which Maturin was a passenger was not provided in the report.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
