HORRY COUNTY, SC. (THECOUNT) — Charles Mechling, of Little River, South Carolina, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Saturday night hit-and-run motorcycle collision in Horry County.
Mechling, 54, was killed in a motorcycle-versus-vehicle hit-and-run collision near Longs Saturday night.
According to reports, Mechling was operating a Harley Davidson motorcycle near 2621 Highway 9 East in Longs, when the bike came into contact with a vehicle, that then fled the scene around 9 p.m. Saturday.
Mechling was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
