NORTH BRUNSWICK TOWNSHIP, NJ. (THECOUNT) — The suspect who fatally shot the 20-year-old son of U.S. District Judge Esther Salas, and injured her husband in a shooting Sunday at the family’s North Brunswick, New Jersey home, has been found dead of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound near Liberty, New York, A municipal employee discovered the body in a car.

The unnamed deceased suspect was an attorney who had a case before Judge Salas in 2015, sources said Monday.

The deadly incident, which occurred at the North Brunswick residence of Salas, took the life of her son, Daniel. Her husband, defense lawyer, Mark Anderl, was injured.

According to reports, the unidentified deceased gunman, posed as a delivery driver, opened fire, killing the young man and injuring Anderl.

Salas was reportedly in the basement at the time of the shooting and was not injured.

Anderl is said to be in an area hospital recovering from surgery.

The suspect was not in custody.
