TERREBONNE PARISH, LA. (THECOUNT) — Demetrius Lewis, of Houma, Louisiana, has been identified as the victim in a Friday night vehicle crash in Terrebonne Parish.
Lewis, 53, was killed in a two-vehicle collision near Houma on Friday night.
According to reports, Lewis was operating a vehicle on LA-3087 in Houma, when the vehicle came into contact with another vehicle hauling a trailer. The collision caused Lewis to lose control and strike a concrete bridge barrier around 11:30 p.m. Friday.
Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
A passenger in the second vehicle was transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries. The driver of the second vehicle was uninjured in the incident.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
