JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL. (THECOUNT) — Antonio Jermell Jackson, of Birmingham, Alabama, has been identified as the victim fatally shot in Jefferson County Wednesday night.
Jackson, 23, died after suffering gunshot injuries near Birmingham Wednesday night.
According to reports, Jackson was in the 2300 block of 9th Ct S near Magnolia House in Birmingham, when he was shot at least one time around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Jackson was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead of gunshot wounds after midnight.
The shooting is being investigated as a homicide by the Birmingham Police Department.
A motive or suspect in the deadly incident was not provided by officials.
The cause of the shooting remains under investigation.
