BREVARD COUNTY, FL. (THECOUNT) — Casey Kilton, of Machiasport, Maine, and Emily Wilcox, of Machias, Maine, have been identified as the couple killed in a fiery Tuesday vehicle crash in Brevard County, Florida.
Kilton, 39, amd 19-year-old Wilcox, who were residing in Cocoa Beach, Florida, were both killed after the Jeep they were traveling crashed into the back of a big-rig Tuesday morning.
According to reports, the victims were traveling in a Jeep on FL-524 near Friday Rd in Cocoa, when the vehicle rear ended an 18-wheeler around 5 a.m. Tuesday. The vehicle exploded on contact.
Wilcox and Kilton, who became entrapped inside the vehicle, were later pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma and thermal injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
