HUDSON COUNTY, NJ. (THECOUNT) — Umair Saleh of Edison, New Jersey, has been identified as the victim found dead in the Hudson River in Hudson County on Saturday.
Saleh, 23, was found deceased along with an unidentified 22-year-old female from Manhattan, in a river near Jersey City on Saturday.
According to reports, officials responded to reports of a woman in the water near Morris Canal Park in Jersey City. First responders located the body of an unnamed Manhattan woman. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Police were again summoned to the area on reports of a male body in the water. That victim, who was identified as Saleh, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A cause of death for both victims was not provided by officials.
The incident remains under investigation.
