MACON, GA. (THECOUNT) — Wesley Contrell Faulks, of Macon, Georgia, has been identified as the victim in a apparent accidental fatal shooting in Macon Wednesday night.

Faulks, 30, died, after a sidearm he was handling accidentally discharged Wednesday night.

According to reports, Faulks was handling a firearm inside a friend’s dwelling at the Hidden Lakes Apartments, located at 180 Hidden Lakes Ct in Macon, when the firearm discharged striking him in the eye.

Faulks was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead of gunshot injuries on Thursday morning.

The cause of the shooting remains under investigation.
