RICHLAND COUNTY, OH. (THECOUNT) — Hailey Thompson of Mt. Gilead, Ohio and Alyssa Pine of Bloomville, Ohio, have been identified as the two victims in a double-fatal crash in Richland County Tuesday evening.
Thompson, 21, and 18-year-old Pine, were both killed in a two-vehicle head-on crash on U.S. 30 near Mansfield Tuesday evening.
According to reports, Thompson was operating a vehicle traveling on US-30 in Mansfield, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes around 4 p.m. Tuesday. The vehicle then came into head-on contact with a vehicle operated by Pine.
Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
Several teenaged passengers in the vehicles were transported to area hospitals with unknown injuries.
The cause of the double-deadly incident remains under investigation.
