BROWN COUNTY, OH. (THECOUNT) — Alivia June Shumate of Sardinia, Ohio, has been identified as the pedestrian in a fatal Sunday morning hit-and-run in Brown County.
Shumate, 45, was killed Sunday morning near Eagle Township in an apparent hit-and-run vehicle collision.
According to reports, Shumate was discovered deceased after police received a report of a woman laying in the roadway on TX-32 near Schweighart Road in Eagle Township.
Troopers determined Shumate had been fatally struck by a vehicle that then fled the scene.
Shumate was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
