DOUGLAS COUNTY, NE. (THECOUNT) — Cody J. Bates, of Gretna, Nebraska, has been identified as the victim in a single-vehicle crash in Douglas County Thursday night.
Bates, 22, was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Omaha Thursday night.
According to reports, Bates was operating vehicle on S 156th St near W Center Rd in Omaha, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway Thursday night. The vehicle then went airborne, traveled over a bridge embankment and wrecked into Papillion Creek.
Bates was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
